chain is a survey instrument.which is use for land survey , It,s accuracy is not 100 percent it is old method
chain is available in different type many types given below
it is made from iron two links connect with a ring both edge of chain is include of
handle.

  1. Metric chain
  2. Steel band chai
  3. Günter’s Chain
  4. Revenue Chain
  5. Engineers chain
1.Engineering chain
engineering chain have 100ft and 100 links so one link is equal to one feet. it is use for land survey .this method is very old method and it,s accuracy is very less
and it is use for big areas

2.Gunter chain
Gunter chain have 66 ft and 100 links so one link is equal 0.66ft .it is also for land survey. after 10 links in the chain have a talley. it,s aquracy is also very less.

3.Revenue chain
revenue chain have many length. BUt 30ft 55ft, 35ft, is very use in the field

4.Matric chain
matric mean meter . it.s length is inculde in meter
